“The Faeries Of The Forest”
Patupaiarehe – also referred to as faeries (fairies) – were not common when foreign visitors landed ashore on Aotearoa. They are thought to have been residual fingerprints of the gods during the creation of the known world – tiny sparks of pure radiant energy that become aware of their individual existence.

During times of unnatural imbalance, the Faeries would make themselves known, using their energy to influence behaviour for favourable outcomes, sometimes merging their numbers to form an all-powerful Faerie-Guardian.
They reside today in isolated forests, rarely interacting with the outside world, and protecting important spiritual domains through magic.
Though Faeries are beyond corruption, they remain neutral in the affairs of humankind, only offering guidance rather than direct action.
