“Who is JEREMY LATIMER?”
“Ko Maunga Taniwha toku maunga,
Ko Mangataiore toku awa,
Ko Tokerau toku moana,
Ko Māmaru toku waka,
Ko Te Parata toku rangatira,
Ko Te Paatu toku marae,
Ko Te Paatu toku hapu,
Ko Te Paatu toku iwi.”
Being of Maori descent, I have enjoyed exploring its lore and culture – the language, the people, the stories and the history, and I see education as the vital key to unlocking all of its radiant glory, opening it up for everyone to share and embrace.
My ancestral affiliations are Te Paatu, Ngāti Kahu and Ngāpuhi, with a hint of Croatian and a touch of Celtic.
I am married and living in Auckland, a father of four children, one dog and one cat.
I have been fortunate enough to win awards and coaching for my story telling, both in art and written form, through various Maori mediums such as the Te Papa Tupu and the Māori Women’s Welfare League.
Follow me on this journey and together we will discover a new world as old as time, that has been with us since the beginning, marching us bravely into the future.
